Mixology for Black Swan
Date: 10 November
Mixology School
This is a highly unscientific exploration of mixing wine with random things. For example, did YOU know that diet coke and red wine tastes delicious when mixed? No you most certainly did not. But you're significantly less parched which is at least as important.
>Frugal Chick Sangria: Diet Coke and Shiraz in equal parts, lime wedge garnish
This combo is actually a sparkly berry cola delight. You are getting your caffeine intake for the day, so you can also skip that double skim mocha caramel latte!
>Betty Collins: 6oz Chardonnay, 4oz 7up, 2oz sour mix
Way classier than an Amaretto Sour, and less sickly sweet. The Betty Collins is whimsical, well balanced, and no one cares that there’s no one named Betty Collins, right?
>Berry Crumble: 6oz Cabernet Sauvignon, 1oz sour mix, 2oz soda, maraschino cherry
This tangy red wine sour is a classy and unexpectedly awesome summer cooler. Like fresh berry jam that bites back. Plus, you can play that cherry-stem-knot-tongue game to impress and mesmerize your guests!
>Pine Wine: 3oz Pineapple juice, 4oz Chardonnay, and 2oz ginger ale
Like a romantic sunset on a remote Hawaiian beach, this beverage is hard to forget because it’s super delicious and this time it won’t get sand in your shorts!
>Apple Pie: 4oz Shiraz-Cabernet, 1 knob muddled ginger, 3oz apple cider
Muddling ginger is a huge pain, but the exotic spiciness is totally worth tennis elbow AND you have an immediate reward. It’s called yummy!
