Grapes of Wrath

Every year wine stains rob us of perfectly good designer jeans, favorite tee shirts and moderately priced party dresses. Too many a night are these duds discarded, never to be worn or heard from again. Ladies, let’s face it, times are tough and we need to start treating our things with a little respect. Shopping sprees are few and far between, so once and for all here are a few basic tips on how to rid yourself of pesky wine stains for good!

Step 1. Don’t delay. Start blotting right away!

Step 2. Place a towel or washcloth behind the fabric to absorb excess wine when blotting. Then reposition stained area for step 3.

Step 3. Combine 1-teaspoon laundry soap or pretreatment (or dish soap, like Dawn) and 1-cup hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl. Soak a clean sponge in the mixture, squeeze it halfway dry, and then blot your heart out.
Step 4. Wash right away as directed on garment.
